Kimo is back, big, hungry, and tame.

Long time no see! I've been a bit busy the last few months, but for those of you that remember me and Kimo... we're doing great!
Kimo is now 19 months old, and somewhere around 40-44" long. He's got a bit of a winter belly on him, but he's as hungry as ever.
We've come a long way in "taming" (no real such thing in monitors/tegus), at times he actually seems to appreciate my company. Although he regularly puts a nice little huff show on, it just makes me smile, after a year of ownership I know him quite well.

Other than an odd early shed accident in which he tore a good portion of the scales off his own back, he has been nothing but healthy!
He is still in the same enclosure, due do moving, lack of time and funds to build his permanent home, but an 8x3x4 will be waiting for him in the spring, along with a nice little outside paddock.

Without further rambling, here is. First, a short video of him in the kitchen, being a very goofy lizard:

Second, a video showing just how hungry he can get.
Before the barrage of criticism, yes I understand the negatives of live feedings, and the dangers it poses for both keeper and animal. Lets leave it at this, he gets live feedings once a week, to every other week max, the rest of the time it's his turkey mix. I trust him enough after a year of ownership to be comfortable hand feeding live, and I appreciate the exercise he gets from it. As for the cruelty to the rodents argument... nature is brutal, I don't want to hear it. Of course constructive criticism is always welcome :)

Here's one I just thought was amusing, he was nice and cold in the morning, and having quite the uncoordinated time grabbing this mouse.

And finally, one showing his intelligence.... kinda.
A couple months ago, he actually figured out how to open his enclosure door from the inside, and can now repeat it pretty quickly... I have to screw the door shut.
