Hey, just wanted to know if there are any tricks to getting shed off of your Tegu's tail. Mine sheds great in 2-3 pieces aside from the last 1/2 - 1/3 of his tail. All the toes come out, every nook and cranny except his tail. I keep his cage at 70-80% while he is shedding and bathe him regularly but sometimes that last bit of tail shed won't come off until his next shed cycle! It really annoys me because I want him to look nice and shiny and clean as much as possible! He is an Arg. B&W at a little over seven months old and around 29" long. He's growing like a wild fire and I don't hibernate him; he eats whole prey (adult mice) twice a week and the remainder of the week he eats a mixture of ground turkey, kiwi, bananas, scrambled eggs, and mangos. I add a calcium supplement to his meals 1-2 times a week. I know when my snakes eye caps don't come off I use a money counter to rub them off, but rubbing on my tegus shed gets me nowhere! I mist his cage several times a day as well, just for the extra moisture.
